The Artist Rider: How it is created, negotiated and used by the artist, artist team and promoters.

During the negotiation with the booking agency, the buyer will ask for the artist rider. This document will provide the buyer with an understanding of what it will require to produce the event. The rider will reveal what the buyer must do to meet the artist specifications in every detail to produce their show.

 

A tour rider will provide great detail on hospitality as well as technical needs for the musicians. This document is typically produced by management in collaboration other team members. It is negotiable to some extent at least the minor issues as it becomes an addendum to the negotiated performance contract. Once attached, the rider details must be executed just as all other points within the negotiated live performance contract.
